Very Important Events – GRFC

The Greator Renton Football Club held an auction 11/11/11 in order to raise funds for the GRFC Scholarship Program along with many other programs like the iSoccer and College Counseling Programs. It was held at the Seatac Marriott with Jim Dever of King 5's Evening Magazine as the auctioneer. Also attending were several players from the Seattle Sounders and other special guests. The event was co-ordinated by Carna Lapping of Very Important Events (VIE) and the MC/DJ was Austin Beaver.

The event was very well planned from a VIP cocktail hour, to a silent auction, to catered dining and a blast of a party to end the night. To keep the soccer theme, there were soccer ball center pieces, soccer ball balloons, and soccer ball cookies.

The Marriott's pool area atrium made for a fantastic environment and created great ambiance for the VIP lounge. The dim lighting, the abundance of lush fauna and the stream of water that flowed through out the atrium made it feel like you walked into a rain forest.

I tell ya, it's hard to find anyone more charismatic than Jim Dever. With his great sense of humor and antics you can't help but to love the guy. At one point he even excepted the challenge to do a hand stand on a skate board and ride across the dance floor in order to get more bids on King 5 passes that were being auctioned off.

As a very special surprise, one of the attendees purposed to his girlfriend. He set up a fake auction item, a diamond ring. The people that were in on it drove the sell price up to $80,000. Kelli, his girlfriend, looked a bit concerned when she saw that Keith was bidding that high, wondering what he was doing. Then as Jim brought the ring over to him, Keith popped the question... she said yes! Congratulations you two!

Carna of VIE contacted us via our website to inform us of the fund raising event and inquire of our volunteering our services. Carna is a fantastic planner/coordinator. She was on top of  her game. Everything was handled in a professional manner and she made sure both client and vendor needs were taken care of. Austin rocked the house! This guy has some mad mixing skills, not to mention a very strong persona as a Master of Ceremonies. We look forward to working close together with both of them in the future for upcoming weddings and events.
